Tamjanika
Tamjanika or Temjanika is a Serbian type of grape, a variety of Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains, grown in Serbia and Macedonia. Tamjanika is used to produce white wines of intense fruit aroma and taste. Most probably the growing of this grape variety started during the reign of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius Probus at the site called Mons Aureus on the right bank of river Danube near Smederevo. It’s of unknown origin. It was introduced from Austria. Vine grafts are being grown in middle Serbia, Kosovo and Vojvodina. It’s a very lushy cultivar.
